QCL Miss Showgirl

Miss Showgirl

The Queensland Country Life Miss Showgirl Awards provides an opportunity for young women to be involved in the agricultural industry, the show movement and their local communities.  They in turn gain personal development, have an opportunity to pursue leadership roles in their community and in the workplace.  The Awards have made a significant contribution to the advancement of women in regional and rural areas ever since the first Queensland Showgirl was awarded in 1983.

The Showgirl Awards, hosted by the Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Societies and promoted by the Queensland Country Life newspaper, have together offered hundreds of Queensland women each year to be involved in one of the great Australian traditions – the local Show.

The young woman selected will act as an ambassador for the next 12 months and will attend as many shows throughout her region and Queensland as possible. The 2018 winner attended the RASC (Royal Agricultural Society of the Commonwealth) Conference to be held in Edmonton, Canada.
